Caleb's Peak Oil Presentation

I have Caleb's permission to share a powerpoint presentation he made when he was 9. He managed to succintly sum up what the issue is and what we can do about it in only a few words and a few slides. Everytime I come across it I get that rush of, gee willikins I have a wonderful child. But please don't tell him that I will be not only blocked from facebook I will have my block knocked off.

He's 14 now and I've discovered how excruciatingly embarrassing I am as a parent. My only consolation is Trev is just as embarrassing. Who'd have known?

I'm suffering the same fate - my 14 year old doesn't want me to exist at present either and there is sudden silence if I go there when he is talking to his friends. He even cancelled his birthday because he's scared to let his friends meet us and he maybe will die of embarrassment :) Despite the fact that they mostly know me from previous years.

Wow that's awesome work for a presentation from a 9 year old on such a major issue! Thanks for sharing :) Regards, Ruth

Very well done, Caleb. No really, great message and the powerpoint is nicely designed too. I have some colleagues that I wish you could train to do powerpoints in that style and not cram every chart, bullet, point and sentence they can into each slide. But I digress....

Excellent powerpoint Caleb...not that you are ever going to know that a Northern Tasmanian said so because your mum is never going to tell you ;). I must agree that my, now grown, children are heartily embarassed of me and I am totally proud of that fact. It descends from generations of accute embarassment and I would be letting the side down if I didn't carry on the old tradition. Get used to it kids...it isn't going to change any day soon! Bravo Caleb!

Just about sums it up perfectly. My favourite part? The Start! It will be the start to treating our world with, hopefully, the respect she deserves!
